South America
A little less known for its rugby, South America provides an alternate destination to the “big three” but nonetheless a diverse and interesting tour
Argentina is the most sought after location in South America as they hold the reputation for being Latin America’s best rugby players. Do not let that be the sole attraction. Think about the amazing waterfalls and their notorious reputation for making the world’s best steaks!

Argentina
A visit to Tucuman, their strongest rugby province is in order. The pinnacle of Argentine rugby can be found here.
You will have to stop off in Buenos Aires. As the capital of Argentina it is a must see destination for any rugby tourist, particularly because of the many rugby teams that reside there.
Here you will get the chance to see the famed Casa Rosada, the pink presidential palace and to take a tour of the Alberto J. Armando stadium, home of Boca Juniors, Maradona’s team.
Argentina is the home of tango. This can provide a good opportunity for a parent or dance enthusiast accompanying the tour to see professionals in action!
Buenos Aires is a vibrant city which provides a large variety of entertainment options, which are bound to fulfill the wishes of all age groups.
Tips
You must not miss the Iguazu Falls. Nominated to be one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature, they are one of the biggest tourist attractions of South America
Uruguay
By taking a short ferry ride from Buenos Aires, you can cross the border into the Capital of Uruguay, Montevideo. Rugby in Uruguay is on the rise and their teams are constantly improving. They are always welcoming touring teams as they see it as an opportunity for them to develop their rugby. Montevideo is a charming city with friendly and welcoming citizens. Because of the strong influence from European Settlers, Montevideo has diverse architecture, making it a delightful and charismatic city.

Chile
Because of its long spread, Chile has very diverse climates, ranging from deserts to forests. Despite its reputation for being a smoggy capital city, Santiago, offers an unforgettable experience for any tourist. There are many attractions for tourists such as Arm’s Square, the National Museum and the many old style, colorful markets.
Santiago is well known for its picturesque settings and for being one the few cities in the world where you are be able to ski in the nearby Andes in the morning and swim by the beaches in the afternoon!
Tips
South America is a relatively desolate continent. Many parts of it are inhabited which means that travelling great distances may be necessary to move from one place of interest to another. It may be better to select a few destinations which are close to each other.
