Real Rugby Tours - Destination:South Africa

South Africa

South Africa has been included in the medium haul category because there is only a 1 hour time difference between the UK and SA meaning that you won’t suffer from jetlag.

Furthermore the relatively short flight can be done overnight meaning that you can get started on your tour right away.

Home of the current world champions, SA are guarantees to expose you to great rugby as well as to a completely different culture.

We like to provide a journey that will leave your team with a bagful of experience that you will not find elsewhere. As such we typically organize tours that start in Cape Town, and travel along the much famed Garden Route. (Learn more here)

We like to provide the option to stop at many place of high cultural or historical importance such as Robben Island were Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 27 years or Rorke’s Drift the site of a Zulu attack on British forces, now renowned as being one of the best displays of courage from the British army.

SA is guaranteed to offer whatever you are looking for and promises to be a great journey for any team.

Cape Town
Cape Town is a vibrant city set in the foreground of Table Mountain. It offers you the chance to see important historical sights such as Robben Island (where Mandela was imprisoned) as well as take part in activities such as surfing.

Durban
Due to its beaches, stunning harbour and the golden mile (a stretch of beach lined with hotels, restaurants and bars) Durban is widely regarded as one of Africa’s major resorts.

Primarily for these reasons, Durban is a favorite for water sport enthusiast meaning there will be plenty of activities to keep you entertained.

Garden Route
The Garden Route is a stretch of road that that starts at Mossel Bay and finishes just outside Port Elizabeth. The scenic route is guaranteed to amaze you with the stunning scenery but also with the many activities that can be experienced along the way. A couple of examples are whale watching and cage diving.

Safari
Going on a safari is a must for any tour of any age group. The chance to see animals, big and small, is an empowering experience and one that you will cherish for the rest of your life. The Kruger National Park offers extremely good accommodation suited for all people and the Addo Elephant Park just outside Port Elizabeth or the Pilanesburg outside Jo’burg will guarantee a sighting of the big 5 (Lion, Elephant, Buffalo, Leopard and Rhino).

Swaziland
Swaziland is a small country surrounded by SA. Their inhabitants are perhaps the best draw to the country as they are laid- back, friendly and welcoming. The country's protected nature reserves and parks are characterized by some of the most beautiful landscapes in southern Africa.

Here teams are greeted warmly by the locals who are thrilled by the opportunity to meet touring teams as they believe it is essential to their development of rugby.
