Travel/Playing Insurance

Travel insurance is essential to have when going on any holiday, but it is even more necessary when going on a rugby tour because of the risk associated with the sport.

Real Rugby Tours cannot provide you with insurance but we offer to help with all the documentation and we can provide guidance with the long application form process. RFU provide insurance through the group Marsh. (www.rfu.com). However, there are many other insurance companies that we can help you with.

We can strongly reccomend the use of an insurance company as they cover:

  • Personal Accidents
  • Medical Expenses
  • Personal Baggage, Money and Playing Equipment
  • Cancellations
  • Travel Delay
  • Personal Liability

Reciprocal Health Care Agreement in Europe
All UK residents are entitled to reduced cost or free medical treatment when temporarily visiting a European Union (EU) country, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway or Switzerland.

To obtain this treatment you will need to obtain a European Health Insurance Card free of charge.

You would only be covered for treatment provided under the state scheme at home.

The government stresses that the European Health Insurance Card should not be a replacement for travel insurance and it is highly recommended that travellers cover themselves for unexpected costs, including medical emergency repatriation.

Public Liability Insurance
Real Rugby Tours has public liability insurance for all of its staff. This means that in the unlikely event of one of our members causing an accident, the insurance company will pay a certain amount of money to rectify that problem.
